Projects

Lockheed Martin UK - Integrated Systems & Solutions provides support to the European Air Traffic Management Programme (EATMP) for EUROCONTROL in the areas of airspace planning, navigation, surveillance, communications and Aeronautical Information Management as well as to the Safety Regulation Unit (SRU) and the Regulatory Unit.

Projects extend to the States of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) while activities include programmes such as the European AIS Database (EAD), Reduced Vertical Separation Minima (RVSM), the Navigation Strategy including Area Navigation (RNAV) and GNSS, the Airspace Strategy, Mode S and the development of international regulatory and operational procedures.

The company supports European Commission research and development programmes such as MA-AFAS. Lockheed Martin UK - Integrated Systems & Solutions also works closely with safety and risk assessment specialists in the development of safety cases.

Since Autumn 2001, an Lockheed Martin UK - Integrated Systems & Solutions/Logicon team has been developing a database application for the NATO HQ C3 Interoperability Branch (IOB) Data Link Support Staff (DLSS) to support the Data Link Configuration Management process of the Data Link Working Group. The database will enable the DLSS to manage and track the progress of Data Link Change Proposals (DLCPs) for the STANAGs/ AdatPs that cover NATO Tactical Data Links.

Lockheed Martin UK - Integrated Systems & Solutions is also addressing the civil/military ATM and Air Defence co-ordination and interoperability issues for EUROCONTROL's Central European Air Traffic Services (CEATS) programme.

Recent projects include safety assessments of Precision RNAV in Terminal Airspace and a harmonised airspace classification above a common level; developing a rationale for the future European navigation infrastructure; the development of Collaborative Decision Making processes for the STAR Alliance; and an assessment of the end-to-end integrity of aeronautical data.
