and rule-making bodies using permanent staff with extensive backgrounds in civil
and military aviation authorities. Staff undertake leading roles at
international meetings such as those associated with the European Commission
(EC), RTCA/EUROCAE, EUROCONTROL, ICAO, NATO, UK MOD and US Department of Defense
(DOD) fora.
Lockheed Martin UK - Integrated Systems & Solutions has a major role in the provision of technical support to the development of Single European Sky (SES) implementing rules and associated studies, both directly for the European Commission and within EURCONTROL.
Lockheed Martin UK - Integrated Systems & Solutions developed a major enhancement to the EUROCONTROL regulatory process. The EUROCONTROL Notice of Proposed Rule-Making (ENPRM) process harmonises EC and EUROCONTROL regulatory processes and allows the EUROCONTROL Organisation to develop regulatory material its own States more effectively.
Lockheed Martin UK - Integrated Systems & Solutions is currently supporting the European Commission and EUROCONTROL Regulatory Unit (RU) through the development of regulatory programmes, processes and regulatory material.
Other Policy and Rule-making support activities include:
- Development of RTCA standards.
- Provision of input into ICAO SARPS and other material
- An ongoing leading role with the US DOD and UK MOD in negotiating and developing interoperable communications standards. Work with the US DOD also includes international regulatory projects such as Frequency Clearance issues.
