Assistant Database Administrator
Contract
Duration: 1-3 years
Location: Brussels
Start: June 2008

We require an Administrator to update and support our client's Database, carrying out monthly data quality control checks, issuing requests for compliance with monitoring requirements and liaison/coordination with State Authorities across the Aviation industry.
The proposed activities require a high level of organisational and administrative skills. The successful candidate will have extensive practical knowledge of standard office PC tools. Database administration would be an advantage. The post involves global electronic and telephone communication with various state authorities and aircraft operators and therefore the candidate must demonstrate a high quality of written and spoken English; other languages will be an advantage. Ideally the candidate will have experience with quality control/configuration management systems.
Requirements:
- Good knowledge of standard Microsoft office PC tools.
- Experience of configuration management techniques.
- dB administration.
- Knowledge of formal quality control systems, e.g. ISO 9001.
- Working language is English. Working knowledge of French would be advantageous.
The role:
Assist the Database Administrator in the operation of the Approvals Database:
- Process information from aircraft operators, state authorities and other Regional Monitoring Agencies.
- Carry out data validation and entry correction checks.
- Conduct periodic quality control checks by verification of state approvals.
- Verify the approval status of aircraft in RVSM airspace not already listed in the database.
- Conduct approvals data exchange protocols with others and issue Height Monitoring Results for publication on the web site.
Assist in the administration of Height Monitoring Results.
- Assist the Operations Manager in the Administration.
- Documentation of operational procedures.
- Establishment of data and document control procedures.
- Act as Secretary to internal meetings.
- Bi-monthly updates of aircraft approval data received from external organisations.
- Request identity and approval status of unknown aircraft from state authorities.
- Conduct periodic quality control audits and verify contents of database.
- Approval data exchanges with other areas.
Height Monitoring Data.
- Processing of monthly incoming height monitoring data received.
- Coordinate monthly release of height monitoring data to external organisations and the web site.
- Action monthly reports on operators that require height monitoring to meet minimum monitoring requirements.
