ATC Consultant - Flight/Route Planner
Contract Duration: 1-3 years

We require an experienced Flight Data Planner with strong analytical capabilities and technical knowledge of ATC routing, to work with our client, based in Brussels who are tasked with the Research and Development of an operational performance framework applicable to the Route Availability Document – RAD (RAD is a strategic ATFCM planning document, which integrates both structural and ATFCM requirement). Previous experience of flight planning, ATFCM and route planning, and a knowledge of computerised ATC and/or flight planning systems would be a distinct advantage.
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Define and implement impact assessment methodologies.
- Participate in coordination meetings with ANSPs and produce reports measuring the impact of existing and proposed RAD restrictions.
- Good analytical skills and high level of PC skills.
- Strong ability to perform analyses and elaborate performance indicators and reports.
- Develop impact assessment methodologies for the RAD.
- Prepare and Participate to RAD meetings & other ATFCM Strategic phase coordination meetings.
- Production of detailed RAD documentation and reports.
- Produce performance analyses and elaborate performance indicator reports.
Essential:
- Technical knowledge of ATC routing requirements in Europe.
- Experience in Data analysis, KPI settings & follow-up and performance measurement.
- Excellent knowledge of office 2000 or XP.
- Knowledge of relational databases (e.g. Oracle).
- Human Machines Interfaces: WINDOWS, Java, Adobe Acrobat V6 (or higher).
- Full University Level in Computer Sciences or Engineering or equivalent job experience.
Desirable:
- Licensed dispatcher or Airspace Planner or equivalent experience in ATM.
- Technical knowledge of flight planning, ATFCM and route planning and a knowledge of computerised ATC and/or flight planning systems.
- Web applications: Interwoven/teamsight.
- Data Warehouse experience (data querying (SQL), data mining).
- Knowledge or usage of EAD would be of advantage.
Languages:
- Ability to read, write and speak English is mandatory.
- Knowledge of French is an advantage.
The objective of the RAD is to facilitate flight planning in order to improve ATFCM, while allowing aircraft operators’ flight planning flexibility. It provides a single, fully integrated and co-ordinated routeing scheme. We need to help improve the methodology and coordination processes used to implement the RAD, and establish an operational performance framework for RAD restrictions in order to achieve a better impact assessment of these measures, and to reduce the complexity of the current RAD.
