The InterOperability Matrix (IOM) System provides a user-friendly database-driven format for the evaluation of platform interoperability.
The interoperability assessments are based on a series of platform capability questions that are supplemented, if necessary, by rationales.
These questions usually relate to how a platform intends to implement a particular Link 16 feature. Each platform is required to respond to the question stating how each Link 16 feature is implemented. Platform interoperability is then evaluated by comparison of the implementation details given against each platform.
The IOM system allows simple maintenance of both the interoperability questions and platform implementations and provides extensive interoperability report features including some automatic selection criteria to simplify the interoperability evaluation procedure.
The IOM system is currently populated with a selection of Link 16 platforms.
