Job Description
A Geospatial Intelligence domain Consultant to work in the Intelligence Business Unit within the ASCIT Business Area having a thorough in-depth knowledge of Geospatial Information Science (including knowledge of data, exploitation and analysis software, hardware, infrastructure and processes).
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and undertake specialist geospatial consultancy work in support of active company projects, with a good understanding of geospatial data, its capabilities and limitations, standards and formats.
- Provide expert geospatial intelligence advice to help prioritise and capture new business opportunities in the defence and civil intelligence sectors.
- Support the development of strategy and plans for the growth of geospatial capabilities within the company and provide recommendations and justification for additional resources and enhancements to the Lockheed Martin experimentation facility.
- Apply knowledge / understanding of geospatial web services (principally OGC) and exploitation of the data where appropriate.
- Support the development and delivery of geospatial intelligence demonstrations, experimentation, concepts and capabilities (including involvement in Research & Development activities).
- Work within or lead project teams in support of the delivery of Geospatial capability and studies.
Essential Skills
- In-depth understanding and experience of geospatial intelligence in support of UK, US and NATO military operations.
- Broad understanding of how geospatial skills and capabilities can be applied across government departments for non-defence functions.
- Drive and enthusiasm to establish vision and grow new capabilities in support of customers’ needs.
- Comprehensive understanding of geospatial products and environmental data types.
- Appropriate security clearance.
- Excellent technical (engineering) hands on skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing with active listening skills.
Desirable Skills
- Up-to-date software expertise and skills.
- Appropriate MSc or relevant qualification / experience.
- Knowledge of Systems Engineering processes.
- Analytical skills.
- Knowledge Transfer experience.
- Requirements Capture and definition
- Good communication and presentation skills including document writing and preparation.
