Job Description
Lockheed Martin UK - Integrated Systems & Solutions is looking for a Security Officer to undertake the role of ensuring all aspects of security are compliant with Her Majesty's Government (HMG) Manual of Protective Security (MOPS) and that Corporate requirements and procedures and are enforced within the Company.
The successful candidate will also be specifically required to provide security support to the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Operational Analysis (OA) – JSF OA team at Farnborough ensuring all areas of the Programme and Company are Security compliant, playing an active part in expansion plans and any future Company activity in this multi-national highly classified arena.
The Security Officer will report to the Company Security Controller and deputise for him in his absence.
Duties & Responsibilities
Implementation and management of policies and procedures, as well as execution of all security activities, in compliance with HMG and the Company agreed security requirements by:
- Implementing and maintaining the security infrastructure of the JSF OA
- Planning and executing the Security requirements of premises expansion
- Creating specific Company instructions and procedures for the JSF OA
- Ensure current Programme compliance with Security and plan future requirements
- Conduct regular audits of processes and people and co-ordinate external security audits as necessary
- Staff training and education in security requirements being responsible for security briefings to the JSF OA visitors and new team members
- Undertake role of Cryptographic Custodian
- Maintain accurate records and required security paperwork
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new procedures and prepare detailed work instructions for their operation
- Deputise for the Company Security Controller in his absence
Ensure the efficient running, co-ordination and execution of all security activities within and relating to the JSF OA.
Ensure the security, effective processing and record keeping of any HMG Cryptographic material pertaining to the JSF OA as detailed in the BMD.
Ensure that physical security systems for the premises, IT network and data are adequate and in compliance with both HMG and Company requirements.
Manage the JSF OA Access Control System and the analysis of reports as required.
Ensure current awareness of latest HMG and Company security requirements, enforcing as necessary.
Be aware of the process to manage and maintain accurate manual and/or computerised security records in compliance with HMG security requirements of:
- Company personnel vetting, including contract and temporary staff
- All visits by Company personnel to HMG and related establishments and defence organisations both in the UK and overseas
- All visits by Foreign Nationals to UK Government and Company sites
- Matters pertaining to security aspects of bids, tenders and contracts
- Movement, security and storage of Company classified material
- Physical security measures
Ensure effective liaison with site Guard force and local police.
Ensure the protection of customer assets.
Undertake full investigation, analysis and reporting of Security Breaches.
Conduct Security Risk Assessments
Essential Skills
- Proven experience of managing security requirements within UK Defence industry or Armed Forces Security/Provost or Police Branch
- A requirement to hold security clearance to Developed Vetting (DV) level
- Have undertaken formal Security training
- Previous experience of the role of Cryptographic Custodian
- Experience of working in complex multi-national Programmes in an expanding Company
- Good team player with the ability to develop relationships at all levels
- Must be able to establish priorities, manage own time effectively and be able to adapt to changing priorities
- Proven people management skills
- Ability to work from other locations within the UK
Desirable Skills
- Familiarity with working in a highly classified environment
- US/bilateral security experience
- Government/military experience
- Previous Compartment/STRAP experience
