Technical SpecificationsWhen procuring any system it is important that the specification to which the supplier is contracted is complete, unambiguous and verifiable. Deficiencies in any of these respects often result in the delivered equipment failing to meet the purchaser's requirements. The production of procurement specifications for data link integration programmes is especially difficult because of the need to consider the complex interactions with other platforms which are also using the data link.

The company regularly produces system procurement specifications and maintains these and other documents under strict configuration control on behalf of a number of clients. This work includes the functional specification of Human-Computer Interfaces in a manner which aims to permit the manufacturer the freedom of design while ensuring that the user requirements are met.

Recent technical specifications produced by the company have included:

  • A cardinal points specification for a MIDS/JTIDS Link 16 Network Management System.
  • A technical specification for a Cryptographic Re-keying Facility.
  • A cardinal points specification for the human-computer interface aspects of the radar system upgrade for the Sea King AEW.
  • A technical specification for an advanced MIDS/JTIDS terminal.
  • The technical specifications for the data link terminal initialisation facility for both the Sea King AEW and the Sea Harrier.
